The Federal Coordinator of the United Left (IU), Antonio Maíllo, has remarked the position against his formation against the formalization of the millionaire purchase of bullets that the government wants to carry out an Israeli company. “We are going to wait for what does inside and we will resolve this as we consider. There is no parent government and another part that is borrowed,” he added.
Although IU’s position leaves open and “as a scenario” the abandonment of the coalition government with the Socialists, the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, to add, has stressed that they do not contemplate getting out of the Executive for this matter.
-Interior insists that rejecting the purchase would be to pay at all. What will the IU do before this?
We want an interior rectification and if the official who has taken the file has not found legal arguments to cancel that purchase that another does. It is an agreement of the Governing Council and that Sánchez verbalized. It is a very serious breach of having transactions with a genocidal country with the Palestinian people, there IU is not going to happen. I am sure that the social bases of the PSOE do not support it either.
-Yes Interior move on, do you consider to continue in the government?
The PSOE is in the position of a breach of a part of the government agreement, it is very serious. Cancellation is the best option, as it was agreed in November 2024. The sooner it is canceled, the better. IU wants to maintain the Government of Spain to socially reform Spain, but this issue is very delicate and a clear breach of the PSOE with respect to the government agreement.
--And if it is not rectified?

-Enrique Santiago raises a hypothetical exit from the government. Do you think that, the stage is on the table?
All scenarios are on the table, but at the PSOE table is the breach of the agreement and has to resolve it. The focus does not have to put on whether or not to add from the government, but on Marlaska for breaching its coherent government pact.
-And Díaz is being all overwhelming they would like?
We believe that in the parliamentary group we are satisfied of not sharing the strategy of the war spiral and European rearme where Sanchez has been located with the right and the UE ultra -right. Sanchez is losing coherence with his alternative position to the hegemony of right -wing and extreme right governments. The PSOE seems to have given up defending a Europe of peace.
-Would you make a consultation with the bases on a government exit?
