Cuban actor Néstor Jiménez, born in Trinidad in 1962, shared an episode of his youth that almost ruins his career. In an interview with Cuban Famana TV, the renowned actor revealed how an unfounded rumor about an alleged attempt to theft of a plane led him to be expelled from the popular television program to dance. At 20, Jiménez was involved in a false accusation that seriously affected his reputation, despite being completely unfounded.
The rumor, which even linked it with acts of vandalism such as cutting telephone cables and damaging film seats, was enough for Cuban television to make the decision to separate it from the program. At that time, the program to dance was presented as an exemplary platform for youth, and any accusation of misconduct was taken very seriously, regardless of its truthfulness. According to the actor, this false story cost him the opportunity to continue participating in the program.
Despite this setback he did not allow injustice to destroy his career. Instead of surrendering, he showed that his talent and determination could even overcome the most difficult obstacles. Over the years, he managed to forge a successful career within the Cuban cultural panorama, participating in a series of renowned productions such as sapphires, blue madness, Fangio operation, the mole of the mole, plaff, the ambush and birds throwing the shotgun, among others.
Today, the actor looks back with satisfaction, knowing that he could overcome an incident that, although very painful, did not define his destiny. His career has consolidated thanks to his ability to move forward despite adversities. That unfounded accusation about the theft of a plane was only as an anecdote in his life, which today remembers as the first obstacle that surpassed his way to success.
Néstor Jiménez’s story is an example of perseverance. His career shows that, despite injustices and malicious rumors, true talent can prevail and succeed. Today, the actor is a reference within Cuban culture, and his career remains an inspiration for many.
