Know Hub Chile will carry out at the University of Bío-Bío from May 6 to 7 the Dual Hub Summit 2025, the dual innovation meeting in Latin that will bring together startups, universities, companies in the sector, investors and actors of the & D+I ecosystem, with the aim of positioning Chile as a reference in dual technologies in the region. ​

According to Know Hub Chile, the objective of this activity is to consolidate a for articulation between science, defense, industry and to activate dual innovation in Chile, promoting technologies that to strategic challenges of the country and generate public value, productive and technological capacities with and international impact.

The appointment – the first of its kind in the region – will mark a before and after in the way of conceiving technological innovation: not as an isolated effort, but as a synergy between universities, research centers, companies, startups, armed forces, public agencies and investors.

In this way, the Dual Hub Summit 2025 will achieve a strategic purpose that is to create technological solutions that serve both the civil and the , thus promoting national growth and international projection.

“From Know Hub Chile we firmly believe that the development of a country is built from trust, knowledge and cooperation between sectors that, many times, have worked separately,” says its executive director Javier Ramírez. “Therefore, we have opted for opening a space that connects technological capacities, country challenges and multisectoral collaboration,” he adds.

National Technological Development

The event, which has the sponsorship of Lockheed Martin and the support of Corfo and the National Research and Development Agency (ANID), is sponsored by the Research and Postgraduate Vice-Rectory of the University of Bío-Bío, the Ministry of National Defense, the Regional Government of Biobío, Fidae, the Air Force and the Technological Innovation Center of the Navy of Chile (appointment).

The dual Hub Summit 2025 consolidates a joint effort between public and private actors, both national and international, and its call hopes to position Chile as a regional reference in dual innovation, contributing not only to economic development, but also to the technological autonomy and strategic security of the country.

The first Dual Hub Summit will bring together outstanding representatives of the national and international space ecosystem, including Erin Flores (Chile and Vortic Space Architecture), Gular Kocak (Spacelis, Turkey), Loreto Moraga (Achide), Elise Servantage (tasting) and Sebasthian Ogalde (Andes Aerospace).

For two days, this meeting will put key questions for national technological development on the table: how do we relate to create a dual future? How can the defense boost regional productive and technological development? How do we undertake collaboration routes between science, industry and state?

“What is everyday today, was once strategic. We want dual innovation to cease to be an exception and become a usual practice of collaboration between science, industry and defense,” said Ramírez.
