Called to strengthen protocols

He added that the rise also responds to greater awareness about the rights of students and guardians.
Ibarra stressed that schools must act immediately before suspicion of sexual crimes “it is the duty of the establishment to denounce before the Public Ministry or police forces within 24 hours following the facts,” he said. In addition, he emphasized the need to apply disciplinary measures according to gravity and protect those affected.
The increase in sexual complaints is part of a broader scenario of school violence. In recent months, aggressions have been reported among students, towards teachers and even teachers to students.
