The president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, said Tuesday, in a business forum in Brasilia, that his country is looking to open new air routes north and northeast of Brazil, regions that house from the Amazon jungle to paradisiacal beaches, to promote tourism.
Boric, who is a state visit in Brazil, stressed that the bilateral relationship is in an “excellent moment” and highlighted the commercial increase in areas such as agriculture, professional services, technology and tourism.

Next to his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the Chilean leader described as “really fantastic” the increase in the number of tourists between the two countries.
“I think it is important to continue strengthening it because, in addition, when tourists have a good experience in the country they visit, at the end of the day, the best spokesmen. So, I feel proud when our compatriots have the possibility of leaving Chile,” he said before dozens of Chilean and Brazilian businessmen.
Boric stressed that Chile’s air traffic to Brazil “is not just São Paulo Oa Rio de Janeiro”, as it also includes places such as Fortaleza, Salvador or Belo Horizonte.
“And we are also looking to open it to places in the north”, as well as other cities in the northeast of Brazil; “We have to continue working. Brazil, as you can see, is a very relevant partner for Chile,” he said.
The ruler also stressed that Brazil is the “third largest commercial partner” of Chile, after China and the United States; And that Chile, in turn, is a commercial partner, at the level of numbers, “more important for Brazil than England or France,” he said.
The participation of Boric in the Business Forum occurs within his visit to Brazil, where on Tuesday he was received by Lula to study integration, economic and commercial projects, as well as to review the regional and international agenda.
Boric, whose visit has a state character, will also meet with entrepreneurs on Wednesday to analyze the ambitious bioceanic corridor project, and return to Chile on Thursday, after offering a conference at the University of Brasilia (UNB).
