Sofía Delgado’s mother reported May 2 that a judge condemned Brayan Campo, the girl’s murderer. Through a statement, Mrs. Leidy Zuñiga announced the sentence she will comply with in jail: “He will never leave there.”
Campo, who attended a place for the sale of pet items called ‘Chimuelo’, was captured by several crimes, including aggravated feminicide, in October 2024 when investigators gathered different probative material against him.
The man was accused of kidnapping Sofia Delgado, 12 years old. The child disappeared on September 29 when he went to look for a shampoo for his dog in the Villagorgona district of Candelaria, Valle del Cauca.
From the inquiries, Campo confessed to the authorities the murder of the little one and even indicated where her body was.
“It is attributed to having caused death to the minor, after deceiving and convincing her to enter an establishment to sell food and animal items, which was her property,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigative entity, The man had even accepted the crimes of aggravated feminicideaggravated simple kidnapping, stretched simple sequestration; and concealment, alteration and destruction of probative material.

The girl’s family said a judge condemned Brayan Campo at 700 months in jail, which is equivalent to 58 years and three months after bars.
“Today, May 2, 2025, one day before Sofia’s birthday, the conviction against Mr. Brayan Campo Pillimue was issued,” they reported.
Sofia’s mother stressed that this is one of “the highest penalties that have been imposed in the history of Colombia for this type of crime.”

He also said that The sentence was not appealed; It was firm: “He will have to immediately be fulfilled by the person in charge, who had to apologize to the family and all of Colombia for what happened.”
At the close of the statement, Leidy Zuñiga thanked former Mario Iguarán, whose law firm accompanied her in this process: “They made this high sentence possible.”

The other condemnation against Brayan Campo
Campo had already been convicted in February of this 2025 for the abuse of a girloccurred in 2018 in the same district of Villagorgona, where Sofía Delgado lived.
In the case of 2018, a criminal judge of knowledge imposed a sentence of 10 years and 7 months in prison.

“The investigation proved that the man, taking advantage of the proximity he had with the family of the minor, took her to a property of the Villagorgona district and sexually assaulted her,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
Campo remains since 2024 in La Tramacúa prison, in Valledupar.
