The Colombian delegation left an important mark on the youth world Cup of weightlifting made in Lima, Peru, when obtaining eleven individual medals: two golds, eight silvers and a bronze.
In addition, the male team managed to be crowned as a world runner -up in the general score, standing out for its great performance in each of the categories.
On the final day, Yiraran Sofía Tysforod Rivas, from Antioquia, shone with his own light by winning the gold medal in starting in the category of more than 87 kg, when lifting 111 kg.
In addition, silver was hung on the total, with a 242 kg lifting. This result was key to the outstanding performance of the Colombian team in the championship.

The national coach Luis Carlos Arrieta highlighted the performance of the male team, stating that his goal was to reach the podium with the team and, finally, they achieved it, despite not being able to have the full women’s team to revalidate the title achieved the previous year.
Throughout the tournament, several Colombian pesists stood out and achieved medals in their respective categories:
