The Colombian family welfare Institute (ICBF) faces a scandal for a case of sexual abuse that would have apparently occurred in one of the gardens under administration of this entity. This would not be the first time this type of situations occur.
On that occasion, 18 minors were apparently, abused, mistreated and tortured by a teacher, who was identified as Fabian Vivas.

The events would have occurred in the Corinto Children He took advantage of his position to have contact with minors.
Given what happened, The children of the children sued on that occasion to the ICBF and the Attorney General’s Office for omissionthey argued that the State failed in their surveillance and control functions, allowing abuses to be executed without timely intervention.
In 2024, the Administrative Court of Cundinamarca issued a sentence and condemned the ICBF and the Children’s Home Corinthly compensation for minors who were victims of the alleged abuser.
Within the sentence, justice ordered compensation with 200 legal minimum wages in force to each childin addition to an integral repair to parents, brothers and grandparents, who were qualified as indirect victims.
Another of the court orders was to provide training at least 120 hours to public workers of the ICBF and who work in children’s homes. This should be found with the purpose of sensitizing officials about the importance of their work as educational authorities for prevention and accompaniment to minors who were victims of school violence and sexual abuse.
Although the file speaks of 18 children as victims, the order of the court only mentions compensation to five families. The man indicated as a minor abuser was killed in 2022 in Corinth, Cauca.
At the moment it is expected that the authorities do the corresponding thing in the case of children of the Canada Children’s Home, in Bogotá, who would have been abused by a teacher who, using the excuse of a game, would have taken advantage of several children who were under the care of the entity.
