The Mossos have arrested 28 people, between 22 and 61, for 133 thefts or robberies perpetrated in the public bus network in Barcelona, within the framework of a device deployed by the Police between April 22 and 28.
After that, the Judge of Instruction number 7 of the Superior Court of justice of Barcelona (TSJC) has decreed the prohibition for two of those arrested to be able to use any bus of the Metropolitan Network.
The Mossos report this Saturday in a statement that agents from their areas of urban transport, urban crime, motorcycles and the police station of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Gràcia, in collaboration with the Urban Guard, deployed on the 22 4,500 cameras.
The plan was designed to stop usual thieves on buses, who acted in small or alone groups and mostly stole the elderly.
The first day of the devices, the agents arrested 14 people. The rest of the days was located and arrested those that had previously been identified as alleged authors of robberies or thefts.
The avant -garde
The detainees almost always approached the elderly and took advantage of the moments when the buses were full of passengers to get closer to them and steal what they carried, above all, in the handbag, without any of the victims suffering injuries.
The detainees, which in total added 164 police records, were brought to justice between April 24 and 28.
The Catalan police indicate that the investigation is still open, so it does not rule out new cases.
