Since the beginning of 2025, Ukraine has imported 1.12 billion cubic meters of gas, which is almost 10 times more than in the same period of 2024.
This was said by consulting company Expro Consulting, reports Ukrinform.
“Natural gas imports to Ukraine since the beginning of 2025 amount to 1.12 billion cubic meters as of May 5, according to exproying data. Compared to the same period last year, imports increased almost 10 times: from 118 million cubic meters by 2024 to 1.12 billion cubic meters in 2025,” says the statement.
-It is pointed out that the largest volume of gas was imported from Hungary: 669 million cubic meters. Slovakia imported 261 million cubic meters of “blue fuel” and Poland, 190 million cubic meters.
At the same time, the main importer was the Naftagaz Group, whose import participation was 80%. Some private companies also imported gas for later sale in the Ukraine Energy Stock Exchange.
As Ukrinform reported, at the end of April, the Ukrainian company Naftagaz signed an agreement to attract a loan of 270 million euros from the European Bank for reconstruction and development and an agreement on a subsidy of 140 million euros from Norway for the urgent purchase of one billion cubic meters of gas.
