Liam Lawson has said that immersing himself directly into a triple-header full of action with Racing Bulls helped him keep his mind busy and not think about losing his seat in Red Bull F1.
Lawson He was replaced by his former partner Yuki Tsunoda after only two disastrous weekends to Red Bullsince he felt he needed more time to adapt to the difficult to drive RB21 of 2025.
The New Zealander did not have time to reflect on the change, since he launched directly to a triplet brutal Japan–Bahrain–Saudi Arabia in which he has been slowly progressing in his adaptation to the new car, but he has not yet added points or constantly matched the rhythm of his teammate, Isack Hadjar.
Tsunoda The car has also found complicated Red Bull, But the Japanese pilot has managed to find a much more competitive performance base so far.
Reflecting on the change of more brutal pilots of Red Bull, Lawson He says that F1 triple-header has mentally helped him focus on races instead of thinking too much about the exchange.
“I think it depends on how you look at him. Honestly, you would like to have more time to process things, but in some aspects it was probably good for my head simply to be competing and not having time to think about anything else,” said the 23 -year -old before Miami GP of this weekend.
“They were three weeks in a row driving a car, and that was probably good for me. But it has obviously been useful to have a week free to process everything we have just lived and then return here with an even stronger mentality.
“A couple of days off was fine. They have been quite intense months, and especially with triple-header. Everything that happened obviously is something that I cannot change.”
Lawson feels that the VCARB 02 of the team, and now it is about finding that tenth final performance that has been so crucial in a 2025 with an extremely condensed half -stating camp.
His two appearances at the end of the season – 2023 and 2024, replacing Daniel Ricciardo both times – have made Lawson face a series of circuits in which he had never run before, including Miami.
“I am working to maximize the car, going through three very different circuits in which we have just run, and arriving here trying to understand the best thing I can before having driven the circuit,” he said.
“I felt really comfortable in Yeda. I also felt comfortable in Bahrainhonestly. As for comfort, I am there, it’s just about learning and maximizing in new circuits.
“How it is F1 This year, the difference of one or two tenths can get you out of Q1 or get into Q3, which is really difficult. But that is what is making the races quite exciting too. “
