Unicordoba enlists Final document to request registration del Medicine Program – Larazón.CO

The rector of the University of Córdoba, Jairo Torres Oviedo, announced that the qualified registration document To create the Medicine Program, it will be completed at the end of May 2025.

This stage marks the beginning of the formal to open the Faculty of Public Medicine in the department.

Torres Oviedo explained an interview in Larazon. That the document has been developing under the advice of the University of Cartagena.

The process contemplates three critical moments. First, the culmination of design currently developing experts. Second, the internal review that includes evaluation by the Council of , the Academic Council and finally the Higher Council of the University. Third, the filing before the Ministry of National Education for the visit of academic pairs.

The Medicine Program will offer 40 quotas per semester, although it could implement annual cuts due to limitations of the Regional Hospital Network. The University plans to establish differential quotas for rural areas, using of knowledge 11 as a criteria.

The new faculty will be integrated into the current Faculty of Health Sciences, which careers such as nursing, bacteriology and pharmacy regency. The rector highlighted the particular complexity of the medical program: “This requires capabilities. Many of them do not have them. We have to look for them out.”

Among the specific requirements, the University must have anatomy laboratories equipped with simulators, specialized teaching staff and agreements with hospital entities for student practices. The evaluating pairs will verify each aspect during a three - visit.

The institutional goal aims to obtain the qualified before finalizing 2025.
