Hermosillo, Sonora on May 7, 2025.- Within the framework of World Maternal Health Day, the Sonora Government, through the Ministry of Health (SSP), reiterated its responsibility to guarantee comprehensive care for women before, during and after pregnancy, and called on society to join this effort.
According to the SSP, maternal health begins before pregnancy. Pre -management care allows identifying medical, nutritional and social risk factors that could affect the health of the mother or baby. Diseases such as diabetes, hypertension or obesity can be properly controlled if detected in time, which decreases complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
During pregnancy, early and continuous prenatal care is essential, so we must go to the health unit from the first weeks, since this allows close monitoring, offering vaccines, supplements, studies and guidance necessary to prevent problems such as anemia, infections, hypertension or gestational diabetes.
-A balanced diet, the proper consumption of folic and iron acid are key to the healthy development of the baby and to maintain the energy and well -being of the mother. In addition, performing light physical activity, maintaining good hydration and avoiding the consumption of harmful substances helps to have a safer and most satisfying pregnancy.
After delivery, the SSP added, the attention during the puerperium or quarantine is equally essential. Women must go to medical consultations to monitor their physical and emotional recovery, detect alarm signals and receive guidance, family planning and self -care. This stage should not be neglected, since many complications can occur weeks after birth.
The Ministry of Health said that caring for mothers is to take care of the life and future of communities.
