The beginning of the introductory training cycle (ICC) of the brand new Medicine career of the national university of Catamarca, scheduled for this month, has not yet confirmed date.
From the home of high studies they did not report concrete or estimated dates of the official start of the career that has more than a thousand registered and its dictation generated great expectation in society.
In principle, this stage was going to start last April, but it was postponed as that date was approaching. Due to the number of registrations and the capacity of the place where the ICC will be issued, the modality was announced as hybrid, that is, face -to -face and a distance part.
As for the content of the ICC, it consists of five modules: chemistry, physics, community health, cell biology and human rights and health and have the objective of giving the necessary basis for the course of the basic training cycle (1st to 2nd year).
These modules will be dictated separately, so the delay in the start could generate even more delays and subjects of subjects with the students who enter next year.
It should be remembered that, as university and government authorities had announced at the end of last year, the CFI was going to be dictated at the Professional Training Center No. 1, a space that the Executive had yielded for this purpose in September 2023.
About the building conditions of this place there were no news either. It is unknown what are the advances in the improvements, put in conditions and adaptation of the educational spaces, according to the demands of the CONEAU to receive the hundreds of registered students.
A decade of waiting
The intentions and efforts so that this race can be dictated in our province for about 10 years, when in 2015 the former national senator Flavio Fama announced before the University Assembly the implementation of two new careers: Medicine and Architecture, of which only the last one could realize his arrival at the UNCa.
As of that date the efforts of Lucía Corpacci and Raúl Jalil in the province, and Oscar Arellano at the head of the UNCA, tried to advance without success with the implementation of this academic offer through agreements with other universities, such as Tucumán.
It was in 2024 when the Coneau finally gave the final approval.
