Los Angeles (USA) (EFE) .- Penelope Cruz, along with the American actor Edward Norton and Seth Rogen, will star in the romantic comedy ‘The Invite’, inspired by the Spanish film ‘Sentimental’ (2020), Variety announced Tuesday.
Directed by Olivia Wilde, the film will deal with a couple that invites the neighbors to their home and, after a series of unexpected turns, will begin to reveal unknown emotions.
According to the American magazine, the filming would have begun in Los Angeles and the release date is not yet known.
-‘Sentimental’, who was directed by the Spanish filmmaker Cesc Gay, won a Goya award for Best Distributed Actor, for Alberto San Juan, in addition to five nominations, including Best Protagonist Actor (Julio Cámara).
Wilde debuted as a director with the acclaimed comedy ‘Booksmart’ (2019) and, after his success, he put himself in charge of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ (2022), a feature film that star along with the British singer Harry Styles.
In addition to ‘The Invite’, actress Penelope Cruz, winner of an Oscar for her interpretation in ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, by Woody Allen, is also immersed in the filming of ‘Day Drinker’, a suspense in which he shares screen with Johnny Depp.
