In a final full of emotions, Gregorio Javier Gutiérrez Tocora, managed to keep the Crown, of Rey Vallenato de amateur of the 58 Vallenata Legend Festival, who stayed with the title after an outstanding presentation on the ‘Colacho’ Mendoza Park of the Vallenata Legend ‘Consuelo Araujonoguera’.
“Thank God and all the people who supported me, thanks infinite. To my mother who is in heaven, I know that it is also a dream for her. And I know that everything is achieved with discipline. I had 8 years of being participating in the youth and amateur categories and today I take my first crown,” were the first words of Gregorio Javier, the 28 -year -old, a native of Riohacha, La Guajira, after staying with the triumph.
The new amateur king was accompanied in the box by José Cubillos and in La Guacharaca by Luis Gabriel Acosta, and performed the ‘Morenita’ walk, by Leandro Díaz, the meringue ‘the corrected’ of Calixto Ochoa, La Puya ‘with God and the Virgin’, of his authorship, and the Son ‘Marisela’, by Luis Enrique Martínez.
The second place was in the hands of the accordioner Juan Sebastián López and third place went to Juan Miguel Martínez.
The Grand Final, which was held before a massive and enthusiastic audience, brought together the five finalists of the amateur accordion contest: David de Jesús Cañas Rojas, Gregorio Javier Gutiérrez Tocora, Juan Sebastián López Pereira, Juan Miguel Martínez Figueroa and Edwin Rafael Medina Orozco. Each of them demonstrated their skill performing the four air of the traditional vallenato: walk, merengue, Son and Puya.
The verdict was in charge of a jury composed of Jhon Jairo Tovar, Noé Martínez Cuello and Alfonso Pérez Parodi, who evaluated the technical domain of the accordion, as well as the authenticity in the execution of the vallenato airs.
The Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation celebrates the talent of this new generation of accordioneries and reaffirms its commitment to the preservation and promotion of vallenata music, cultural and immaterial heritage of humanity.
Version 58 of the Vallenata Legend Festival continues in search of the Elder Queen, King of the Unpublished Vallenata Song, Piqueria Mayor and Rey Vallenato Professional.
