In an ad that was received with enthusiasm, the government of Mexico confirmed that all the pensioners of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Institute of Social Security and Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) They will receive an additional payment from May 2025, as part of a measure that seeks to recognize their labor career and support their economy in a context of inflation and prices.
The extra amount will be delivered together with the usual pension of May, so the beneficiaries will not have to do any additional procedure. This additional income can exceed 6 thousand pesos in some cases, depending on the regime under which the pensioner is registered and the number of benefits it receives.
The main objective of this benefit is to strengthen the purchasing power of older adults, who often face economic difficulties despite having fulfilled years of service.

The good news was confirmed by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumwho assured that this measure is part of a strategy to improve the living conditions of those who for decades contributed to the development of the country.
The pension support policy remains one of the priorities of the federal government, and this additional new entry is part of the efforts to move towards a pension more dignified, with social justice and without discrimination between workers of the IMSS or ISSSTE.
The additional deposit will be reflected in the bank accounts where the beneficiaries receive their pension month by month. It should be noted that not everyone will receive exactly the same amount.
The amount depends on the type of pension that is received. For example, pensioners for retirement, unemployment or old age, could receive higher figures than those pensioners for partial disability or widowhood. It also influences whether the beneficiary has the right to bonus or annual gratification, since in some cases this money is advanced or complemented by extraordinary payments.
The origin of this extra money is in a combination of budgetary measures and institutional savings, as well as in the fiscal policy of the Federal Governmentwhich has channeled resources to directly benefit the most vulnerable population.
In this case, older adults were prioritized that are part of the social security system, seeking to relieve expenses related to health, food and basic services, which in old age usually increase considerably.
Therefore, if you or a family member receives pension from IMSS o ISSSTEit is recommended to check your bank account as of May and verify the amount received, since the extra money will be automatically deposited together with the regular monthly pension.
