Personnel of the Secretariat of the Environment of Mexico City (Sedema), through the General Directorate of the Natural Resources and Rural Development (Corenadr), and the Ministry of Citizen Security (SSC) participated in the toured. Federal personnel of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), of the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) and the National Guard (GN), with the aim of identifying areas affected by illegal logging, unauthorized forest uses, irregular settlements and disorderly trade.
-As a result of the inspection, places of forest exploitation not allowed were detected, so the capital authorities will maintain institutional presence with continuous patrols and surveillance actions to prevent activities that put the ecosystem at risk, with the accompaniment of federal authorities.
Likewise, in coordination with the communal authorities, a work route will be established to reach agreements with the various actors that use the park, under the environmental equilibrium principle and collective well -being. The Dinamos, fundamental area of the water forest, is protected under the categories of conservation soil (article 16 of the Constitution of Mexico City and the General Program of Ecological Planning of the Federal District) and area of community restoration and conservation community (ARCAC), responsibility of the Sedema of Mexico City in coordination with the Agrarian Community of the Magdalena Atlitic.
It is one of the most important areas of the city’s conservation soil since it houses a great diversity of endemic flora and fauna and provides environmental services such as climate regulation, aquifer recharge and the prevention of soil erosion. In addition, one of the last living rivers of Mexico City, the Magdalena River, which provides an important volume of water for human consumption in the Magdalena Contreras Mayor’s Office is located.
