Mexico City. The General Directorate of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (SSA) reported on the detection of the second case in humans of the infection caused by the boreride worm of the cattle.
This is a 50 -year -old man, who lives in the municipality of Tuzantán, Chiapas and dedicates himself to the work of the field. He began with symptoms of the condition on April 19, after suffering the bite of a dog in the left leg. He did not look for medical attention and on the 23rd of that month he observed “larvae exit through the wound.” It also presented “feeling of movement, intense pain, fever and the area was reddened.
However, he went to the municipality’s health services until April 25. From there they sent him to the Huixtla Health Center, where personnel of the National Health, Safety and Agrifood Quality (Senasica) person Cochliomyia hominivoraxa bluish green fly, with a size that ranges between 10 and 15 millimeters, better known as the borer of cattle.
The first case was identified on April 15 in a 77 -year -old woman, a resident of the municipality of Acacoyagua, Chiapas, who was transferred to the Regional High Specialty Hospital Health. The epidemiology direction indicated that the patient is stable.
