Los Governments of Mexico and Cuba they agreed to continue promoting a safe, orderly and regular migration and with respect to the human Rights.
Within the framework of the XVII Meeting of the Working Group On migratory and consular matters between the two countries, the commitment to a humanistic and regionally coordinated migration policy was reaffirmed.
“Mexico and Cuba continue to strengthen their cooperation so that migration is an option and not a necessity,” said the Foreign Ministry.
In the meeting that was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairsthe Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean, Raquel Serur, the head of the INM, Sergio Salomón and the Cuban Deputy Minister Carlos F. de Cossio participated.
“This morning, in the SRE, the XVII Meeting of the Working Group on Migration and Consular Affairs between Mexico and Cuba was held. We both agreed to continue promoting a safe, orderly, regular and full respect for human rights,” he said.
According to the statement, the strategy must be focused on addressing the structural causes of migration.
“We held a working meeting with consular representatives of the Republic of Cuba to talk about migration and strengthen the joint and collaborative work, always with a humanistic vision,” said the head of the INM in their networks.
