The singer -songwriter Quique González will receive the infinite Cantabria Prize on May 10. Will do it at the Concha Espina Theater in Torrelavega in the … Frame of the Vermú Awards, an appointment that already goes for its third edition. The gala will be at 9:00 p.m. and the entrance is free until the capacity is completed. Although Madrid’s Birth, Quique González has been living in the Pasiegos valleys for years, which he reached as an accidental vacationer and where he has thrown roots.
His first compound theme in the region was ‘Crucadas lives’ and since then he has continued writing and recording with local producers, supporting Cantabrian musical talent. With more than a dozen records, an unmistakable voice and tours throughout the country, Quique González is a key figure of contemporary Spanish music. The infinite Cantabria Award, promoted by the Government of Cantabria through Cantur, recognizes those who, like him, have contributed to strengthen and disseminate the cultural heritage of the community, both inside and outside our borders.
The awards
The Vermú Sisión Awards, awards dedicated to music, are currently in their last phase after the announcement of the finalists. After more than 18,000 Cantabrians have voted, a jury of experts has selected five finalists from each of the ten categories that are delivered. Thus, in total, in this third edition there have been about 200 candidacies of artists from Cantabria, of which the final have passed the final.
These awards are organized by the Department of Celebrations of the City of Torrelavega. Its programming is completed with a free music festival in the Plaza de la Llama.
