The Pretenders, the legendary group led by Chrissie Hynde, one of the most important female voices of the eighties, will be presented on May 13, 2025 at the Antel Arena, after having changed location, initially planned for the summer theater.
“Happy to announce that they are going to be turning through Latin America in May 2025,” reads the statement shared on Tuesday on the band’s social networks. It will be the return of the band to Uruguay, where it was presented in 2018.
The team was formed in 1978 and released its first album in 1980. Success remained in its following albums, cuts like “Brass in Pocket”, “Back on the chain gang”, “Don’t Get Me Wrong”, “Middle of the Road” are part of a large litter of classics.
The last launch was in 2023, Relentless. According to Hynde, the title is a reference to the tireless desire to continue making music, something that began as a “youth restlessness” and culminated in being a relentless search.
In 2024 they published the “Learning to Crawl” vinyl edition, following their 40th anniversary. One of The main characteristics of The Treknters is its authenticity and loyalty in the style with which they began.
