In response to the operations that the Public force has carried out against the Gulf Clan, the armed group announced the beginning of a “gun plan” against all the uniformed in Antioquia, but it has moved to other departments in the country.
Since the plans of the Gulf Clan were known, more than 30 police have been killed in Colombia, generating uncertainty and anxiety in the civilian population, and also within the public force.

Due to this situation, the minister of Defense, General (R) Pedro Sánchez, sent a message to the uniformed who continue to defend the communities, to which he assured them that the arrival of reinforcements in the most affected areas will be recorded.
“The dark events that are happening are not infinite, we will take them very soon to their turning point, but for this the elements that I have mentioned are supremely important. On the one hand, intelligence and investigation, on the other hand, cohesion, on the other hand, the forcefulness of police operations and especially discipline and situational alert in each place, ”said the minister.
With this panorama, in dialogue with Infobae ColombiaJuan Nicolás Garzón, professor at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of La Sabana, delivered a balance on the situation that is recorded in Colombia and the attacks of the Gulf clan.
First, Garzón said that in addition to the uniformed, this type of acts harms the calm of the populations in which the murders have been recorded.
“This attacks against the public force and against the police, It generates sensations of fear and distrust, because there are populations in which the presence of uniformed can be understood as risk or threat, which is the opposite”.
In the same way, the expert indicated that these types of war strategies cause uniformed not to fulfill their work because of the anxiety it generates.
“This type of attack, this, What is called a pistol plan in a crude way, end up generating distrust in the population, which increases the risks for the same police and militarywho find an obstacle, have to be worried at all times, rightly, for their own security, in addition to fulfilling their obligation. ”
Because the national government has indicated that armed groups are having drug traffickers, Juan Nicolás Garzón indicated that, precisely, the last antecedent of a gun plan of this nature was that registered during the 80s by the Medellín poster.
“At the background, The closest were the initiatives that were held and remembered, during the expansion of the posters, such as Medellín’swhich he paid for each dead police, ”Garzón recalled.
Finally, the teacher indicated that these types of actions again prove that the total peace of the national government has not worked, mainly because armed groups have shown that they have no intention of submitting and leaving the weapons.
“That is a completely unqualifiable terror tactic, it reminds us of that era of the country, in which the posters threatened the population and generated that sense of anxiety. It is the reflection of a situation of lack of public order throughout the country, is that criminal organizations, which do not show interest in advancing in dialogues and opt for terrorism”He said.
