kyiv, May 1 (EFE) .- The administration of President Volodimir Zelenski issued sanctions against what was one of his most popular members, the former military, former actor and influential blogger Alexéi Aestóvich, who left Ukraine in 2023 after being accused of having sympathies with Russia after criticizing the head of state.
The name of Aestóvich heads one of the lists published on Thursday of personalities and entities to which the Council for National Security and the Defense of Ukraine accuses of being prorruse propagandists or of supporting Kremlin in different ways in this war.
The sanctions against Aestóvich, which resigned from his position in the Ukrainian presidential office in January 2023 after apologizing for stating that the Russian missile that killed 44 people in Dnipró fell on the place of the massacre after being intercepted by Ukrainian defenses, include the prohibition of withdrawing their Ukrainian and doing assets in strategic sectors.
In addition, these sanctions contemplate the blockade within the country of the contents that it transmits online.
Aestóvich was in the first months of the war one of the most visible figures of the administration of Zelenski.
After his departure from the presidential administration, he became one of the critics of the most followed Zelenski policies and announced that he plans to attend the next presidential elections that are held in Ukraine.
Among the reproaches that makes Zelenski stand out his opposition to the official policy of displacing the Russian language of public space in favor of Ukrainian.
Aestóvich has also recriminated to the administration of Zelenski his alleged triumphalism when planning the Ukrainian military strategy in this war and informing the course of the conflict.
In his first reaction to these sanctions, Aestóvich has anticipated that some of the contents published on the Internet will be blocked by the Ukrainian authorities, and has encouraged its more than 300,000 followers in Telegram to use VPN technology to make fun of that measure against it. EFE
