Flying Pig weekend is here and unfortunately, it’s another weekend filled with rain chances, especially for race day.
It was a very wet day on Saturday across the Tri-State. Many areas picked up an inch of rain or more.
Rain chances will be off and on overnight as they linger into the early morning hours on Sunday. That means we won’t see a whole lot of range in our temperatures. We will go from the mid-50s this evening, and likely fall into the upper 40s and low 50s early Sunday morning. When the rain ends, we will likely see a break or two in the clouds, but for the most part we will stay overcast.
The latest trends aren’t looking too kind for the start of Sunday’s Flying Pig Marathon and Half Marathon. It looks as though we we see some spotty showers trying to move through the Tri-State throughout the morning. These will be moving east to west as a stubborn area of low pressure just lingers over the area.
The good news is that there will not be rain all morning, which means we will have some dry periods during the race, however, I don’t think we will escape the rain entirely during the morning. There won’t be any storms, but we could see a few downpours. The showers look to wrap up late in the morning with a midday break. Temperatures will stay cool because of the rain and clouds. Our high on Sunday will likely stay into the mid 50s.
This low-pressure system will stick around as a thorn in our side for Monday as well, keeping spotty showers in the forecast through the afternoon. Temperatures will stay cool again as well.
