Beijing (EFE) .- The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, will travel to Russia next week to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army over Nazi Germany, which will include a great military parade in the Red Square in Moscow, the Chancellery of the Asian giant reported this Sunday.
during this visit, which will run from May 7 to 10, according to the official Xinhua news agency, the Chinese president will maintain a “strategic communication” with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, “on the development of Sino-Ruse relations” and on “a series of important international and regional issues.”
“We trust that the important consensus between both leaders will further deepen mutual political confidence between China and Russia, promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields and provide greater benefits to the peoples of both countries,” said a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Putin had already anticipated Xi Jinping’s visit, which he defined as a “dear friend,” during his meeting on April 1 in Moscow with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
