Bayern Munich came extremly close to winning the Bundesliga title in Leipzig on matchday 32. The Bavarian’s came back from 2-0 down in the 1st half and even went in front – a win would’ve given them the Bundesliga title.
Goals from Eric Dier, Michael Olise and Leroy Sané even made Harry Kane come down from the stands to the bench in preperation for the title win.
“We’ve shown what we’re capable of in the 2nd half”, said Müller about his club’s performance.
In the 95th minute however, it was Leipzig who delivered the final blow: Yussuf Poulsen scored the equaliser to deny Bayern the title party in Leipzig.
“That equalizing goal makes it a bit strange – I feel like a champion, but the work is not done yet. It’s like an in-between thing”, these are the complicated emotions of Bayern’s record player Thomas Müller in an interview after the game.
The game against Leipzig was the 1st of 3 matchballs for Bayern to win the Bundesliga title themselves, should Leverkusen will all their remaining games of course.
If Leverkusen don’t win against Freiburg tomorrow, Bayern will become “sofa champions” – but everyone, including a certain Harry Kane, would like for Bayern to become Bundesliga champions themselves by winning (or drawing) against Gladbach in the Allianz Arena on the 10th of May.
