The absence of the army has marked this Friday the celebration of May 2 at the Puerta del Sol. However, the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayusohas given him an emotional tribute during his speech, which has accompanied with the melody, piano and violin, of “death is not the end.”
The part in which he has referred to the armed forces with the song tribute to those fallen by Spain has marked the culmination of the celebration, with the public standing between cheers and applause.
In addition, images of the Army and the Eagle Patrol furrowing the sky of Madrid projected on the giant screen that presided over the main stage have accompanied the praised speech of Díaz Ayuso.
It should be remembered that “death is not the end” is the work of the Spanish priest Cesáreo Gabaráin Azurmendi (1936-1991). Although this time only the melody has sounded, the theme is accompanied by a felt lyrics that remembers those fallen by Spain and always marks one of the great moments of the October 12 parade and the Armed Forces Day.
Death is not final
It is not the end of the road
That although we die we are not
Meat of a blind destination
You made us, yours we are
Our destiny is living
Being happy with you
Without suffering or dying
When the penalty reaches us
For a lost brother
When the sinful goodbye
Search in faith his hope
In your word we trust
With the certainty that you
You have already returned to life
You have already brought to light (bis)
When, sir, you rose
We all defeat with you
You gave us life
As in Bethany to the friend
If we walk by your side
You will not miss your love
Because dying we live
Lighter and better life
