Putin signs a new “without limit” alliance with Trump’s enemy
The president of China, Xi Jinping, has landed on Wednesday in Moscow for a three -day visit loaded with symbols: a historical military parade, a closed -door summit with Vladimir Putin and a new exhibition of force in the middle of Ukraine war. The choice of dates is not accidental. The Chinese president has arrived just in time to participate in the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany, the great nationalist milestone that Kremlin turns every year into a political weapon. This time, with the current war, he wants to resonate even higher.
XI is planted in Russia while China and the United States collide again for the upload of tariffs and at a time when Donald Trump tries to recover international prominence offering his mediation in the Ukrainian conflict. Faced with that, Beijing and Moscow have chosen to reaffirm their entente. They have officially done it: they signed a “association without limits” weeks before the invasion began in February 2022 and, since then, they have strengthened their commercial and military ties, in parallel to the isolation of Russia by the West.
