Prices in China fall in April for the third consecutive month

Consumption decreased in China in April for the third consecutive month, according to data published this , despite Beijing attempts to revitalize the domestic market.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key indicator of inflation, contracted 0.1% year -on -year in April, the National Statistics Office (One) said, in line with the of the Bloomberg information agency.

The economy fails to recover its dynamism after the Covid-19 pandemic, weighed down by the weak internal consumption, the high unemployment and a persistent crisis in the former fundamental real estate sector.

The Chinese authorities have taken multiple measures to reverse the situation and revitalize the domestic market, one of its main grocers to compensate for the impact of the tariff initiated by the US President, Donald Trump.

Dong Lijuan, the ONE statistical, said on Saturday in a statement that “imported international factors have a certain negative impact on the prices of some industries.”
