The Civil Guard has arrested in the province of Cádiz the fourth and last crew of the narcolanche involved in the murder of two agents of the body on February 9, 2024 in the mouth of the port of Barbate (Cádiz). The detainee was sought under an international order of active detention since September of the same year.
The tragic event occurred when a narcolanche, manned by four people, deliberately rammed the official vessel of the Civil Guard, causing the death of two agents and leaving four others injured. The operation of this May 3, 2025 ends the process of locating those involved, all of them already detained.
The previous arrests occurred between September and November 2024: on September 19, the boat pilot was arrested and on November 8 two other crew members were located.
The investigation, directed by the Court of Instruction number 1 of Barbate, remains open in the judicial field. The Civil Guard considers that with this last detention the circle has been closed around the material authors of the event that shocked the body and public opinion.
