I would be in self -cataloging as a uribista or trying to get on a bus that I have been critical in the past. The figure of former president Álvaro Uribe, I must say, has awakened me harsh criticism against him not a few times, but seeing the country’s gradual collapse, to César, which is from César: how is missing his figure and leadership, especially in terms of security!
For reasons that I do not explain, Colombia decided to throw its safety policy for a long time. After the signing of the peace agreement, the country lowered its weapons and neglected the multiple fronts that it never had to have set aside. From there, terrorist groups, criminal gangs, mafia organizations, and others, are plunging Colombia into a deep and dangerous black hole. Today in Colombia there is no security. Today in Colombia the cancer “Petro-Progressistic” discourse that stigmatized the concept of security and castrated the right to security that all Colombians must enjoy.
Without security there is absolutely nothing. Colombia can be poured 100 mental straws, and discourage me the expression, but if you have no security, it will not have anything. The famous democratic security of which those of Centro mock so much, and that those of left attack so much, was the firm and determined path to unleash all the potential that our country has, especially in the midst of so much violence and contempt for life.
I do not know if the former president Uribe was ever in Israel, if he ever studied the case of success that that nation has been, if during his government he narrowed the ties with the Israelis, but regardless of the above, Israel is the clear example of the importance of security, how essential it is to have it to build a prosperous and viable state.
Without a strong, determined and ambitious security policy, Israel would not exist today. Neighboring countries would have annihilated it; The Palestinians had raped all their women and killed all their children. Security has allowed Israel not only to survive, but to progress. This country that has just overcome the 10 million inhabitants, of which 20% are Arab, is today a thriving, modern nation and cradle of global innovation.
Colombia must resume the course of a president who puts security above all things, with decision and determination, without fear of that popular and ignorant opinion gale that has made so much damage to us. And it must be a security project that goes beyond four years, a clear vision resist the virulent petro-professional criticism. Colombians deserve to live in peace, calm, in harmony to progress. And that is only possible with a voice that knows how to interpret what Uribe wanted for the country, gauges or not. And incidentally, do it by the hand of Israel’s experience.
