The future of Andrea Kimi Antonelli with Mercedes would be in danger for the near future.
And that would be because of Max Verstappen, according to the opinion of the former president of the International Federation of Automobile, Bernie Ecclestone, in words offered to Blick.
“If Max went to Mercedes, he would probably have to leave the young Antonelli, who has so far shown great performances. I met the former Ferrari chief, Luca Di Montezemolo. And was horrified by the two disqualifications of Ferrari in China.
“Italy had never experienced a shame like this since the beginning of the world Cup! Of course there was a control point that checked the cars after the qualification.
“For low weight, there has been an old rule for decades. It drives through the earth after passing through the goal and collects as many stones as you can with the tires on the gravel bed,” he said.

Why is Kimi Antonelli calling the ‘New Max Verstappen’?
Kimi Antonelli, born in 2006, comes from a racing pedigree. His father, Marco, was a pilot and owner of AKM Motorsport, a team that competes in the Italian F4 championship.
Antonelli’s career began at the age of seven in the Karts, where he quickly showed exceptional talent and won the Easykart international final two years later.
After this initial promise, Antonelli perfected his skills in the WSK series and, in 2018, won the WSK Champions 60 Mini WSK Final and also won the victory in the International Final of the ROK Cup.
The following year, Antonelli dominated the WSK Super Master Series and the Euro Series, even ending fifth in its first appearance in the FIA World Championship. These achievements caught the attention of Mercedes Chief, Toto Wolff, who registered him in the Mercedes Junior Academy.
Antonelli then transition to the cars in 2021 and immersed himself in the F4 championships of Italy and the United Arab Emirates. While his Italian campaign earned him podiums, it was in the United Arab Emirates where he really shone, getting two victories and ending third in the general.
The following year, Antonelli returned to the Italian F4 scene, this time as a dominant force. He swept the championship and won the title with the amazing figure of 13 victories and poles in all races, except in a handful. He also replied this success in the ADAC F4 series, winning the title with nine victories in races and 12 podiums.
All these successes have catapulted him to have a place inside the grid of Formula 1 with Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, among others. For example, Lewis has been one of those who has wrapped it and the world -threatening Spanish of the world has also spoken about his presence.
