Havana, Cuba. – The first secretary of the Communist party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz Canel, toured the International Tourism Fair on Friday Fitcuba 2025which today will open to the public in the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña.
He visited several of the exhibition areas of hotel chains, tour operators and travel agencies, accompanied by the member of the political bureau of the party and prime minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, and the head of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda.
In the Pavilion of the People’s Republic of China, guest of honor, Díaz-Canel was received by the Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, Rao Quan, and praised his concept, since natural beauties stand out but cultural and historical elements are enhanced.
He considered that China’s participation has been extremely important for the success of the fair, when 65 years of fruitful relations with Cuba will be completed.
An innovative Tourism Fair
In statements after touring the International Tourism Fair Fitcuba 2025President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled how the blockade, the media poisoning campaign and the pressures to prevent travel to our country, have stopped tourist recovery after pandemic.
-He pointed out that it is a very perverse United States policy, because when tourism is cut and people are prevented from traveling, they are cutting cultural and links between countries.
The first secretary of the party described this fair as an innovative, because in addition to showing the benefits of Sun and Beach Tourism, he has presented expressions of health, community and agroecological tourism, with circuits designed according to such activity.
These modalities closer tourism to the localities, our geography, to the life of Cubans in their community, Díaz Canel said and stressed the defense of the concept of sustainability.
Tourism management pillars

In the official closure of the Fitcuba 2025, held at the Tropicana Cabaret, Minister Juan Carlos García Granda recognized expectations, and showed optimism for the changes that are achieved.
The strength of San Carlos de la Cabaña will open today to the public and the fair will extend with various activities in the canoe, and it was announced that in Varadero it will be the next edition, with Canada as a guest of honor.
