The Francisco J. Duarte (CIDA) Astronomy Center Foundation, located in the Mérida state, enjoys a set of initiatives to expand and optimize their abilities, which were recently inspected by the Vice Minister for the Research and Generation of the Scientific Knowledge of the Ministry for Science and Technology, Carmen Virginia Lando.
During its tour of the CIDA, the Vice Minister observed the development in the infrastructure and in the investigative processes, including the laboratory for detecting cosmic particles, which is used to try to predict telluric movements. “It is a laboratory that will be linked to an international network and will be very important, which from Venezuela we are also contributing on this issue, it is very important for all our humanity,” said the president of the CIDA Foundation, Dr. Nomar Villa.
Subsequently, a visit to the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (Fundacite Mérida) was made, where books of the Editorial Fund of the Ministry of Science and Technology were delivered. In the meeting, titles such as science women in Venezuela were awarded, exploring the universe, and discovering the invisible: Humberto Fernández-Morán, atomic technologist, who will serve to advance in the expansion of scientific knowledge in the Venezuelan territory.
In addition, advances in the formation of scientific seedbeds were evaluated, as well as the processes of dissemination of knowledge as part of the first vertex of the Great Mission Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán.
