In the 59th Annual Assembly of Affiliates of Camacol Bogotá and Cundinamarcaheld on April 10, the Compensar Family Compensation Box was recognized with the Social Responsibility Award for your program ‘Rural welfare: productive neighborhoods’an initiative that has promoted the economic, social and housing development of the Peasant Communities of Cundinamarca.
The program has directly benefited More than 34,900 peoplemany of them affected by the armed conflict and located in territories with high rates of vulnerability.
An integral impact model
The initiative combines Housing, education, employment, associativity and access to basic services improvementgenerating conditions that allow break cycles of rural poverty and promote a decent life for peasant families.
“To compensate, to promote well -being in the field is a task that transcends the care. It is about dignifying rural life with a territorial sustainability and co -responsibility approach,” said spokesmen of the entity.
42.1% of Colombians live in rural areas
In Colombia, according to recent figures, the 42.1% of the population lives in rural areasovercoming the average of the OECD countries. This underlines the urgent need to strengthen policies and projects that contribute to territorial equity and closure of gaps.
Camacol’s recognition values those initiatives that integrate sustainability with community impacthighlighting ‘productive neighborhoods’ as an example of social innovation in the housing sector.

In addition to compensating, six other initiatives were awarded that are generating transformation in the region through practices that combine Environmental Management, Local Development and Labor Welfare.
