Large areas of Spain and Portugal suffered important power cuts, according to reports

An electric supply affected the entire Iberian Peninsula around 11:33 am local (6:33 am et) on Monday, as confirmed by the National Electricity of Portugal (REN). The company also said that some parts of France were affected by the cut.

“All plans are being activated to restore electricity supply by stages, in coordination with European energy producers and operators,” the network said, adding that the possible causes of this incident are being evaluated.
