New subdelegate of Citma in Granma and director of the Provincial Historical Archive

Alejandro Asdel Portales Díaz, Master in Community Social Development, assumed today the role of Subdelegate of Science, Technology and Innovation in the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma), of Granma.

The assumption ceremony of the position took place at the headquarters of the Armando Hart Dávalos Cultural Center, with the presence of workers assigned to Citma.

Portales Díaz signed the corresponding Act of Delivery and Reception, in union of its successor, the Master in Community Cultural Development, Haydee Gómez Fonseca, with 12 years of in the archive and who also signed the Code of Ethics.

Workers of the Provincial, National and Citma Archive, made their signs of affection through video capsules and highlighted the preparation of portals, their leadership capacity, responsibility, humanism, intelligence, attachment to sincerity, love for history, and their country.

Portales Díaz is a graduate with a degree at the University of the , in the specialty of Sociology. He began his working life in the Citma delegation, as a specialist in the Social Sciences in the Science Unit Technology and Environment, until he was promoted to the Director of the Provincial Historical Archive of Granma in 2011.

He is an attached professor at the University of Granma, a member of international projects and of experts. He was a creditor of the José Carbonell Ard Provincial Award, in 2016. He has had publications in different media, has participated in more than 30 events in different categories and has been the author of research that to various scientific problems.

Portales Díaz stressed the commitment to CITMA and the Historical Archive, where it enhanced the document management and the dissemination of history, consolidating a legacy that includes the to the institutional “nest”.

“One experiences a mixture of emotions: for new challenges and sadness for abandoning a that I am passionate about. Although I physically move away, I will continue to support document management from another area, trusting that the file will grow under the current team,” he said.

Portales Díaz received in mind as recognition and affection, on behalf of the Citma delegation, the Provincial Network of Historical Archives, the Historical Archive of Jiguaní and the National Union of Historians of Cuba in Granma.

The new director of the Provincial Historical Archive is with the level of commitment, especially with a stop as high as Alejandro Portales Díaz.

The transfer of both takes place within the framework of the 103th anniversary of José Manuel Carbonell Ard, emblematic Bayamo historian that gives its name to the Archival Institution of Granma.

Citma is responsible for promoting the application of science, technology and innovation policies; Environment; Industrial property; Metrology, Standardization, Quality, and Document Management and Archive.
