Havana.- With parades throughout the national territory and with the presence of the highest authorities of the country, the Cuban people will commemorate today on May 1, International Workers day.
As is tradition, the professionals of the Nation together with relatives and people in general, will celebrate this important date and reaffirm their commitment to the homeland.
In a recent press conference on the occasion of the date, Ulises Guilarte by Birth, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist party of Cuba and general secretary of the Central of Workers of Cuba (CTC), stressed that despite the pressures of imperialism the labor movement remains fundamental in the revolutionary process and this parade will demonstrate the power of the Cuban unity.
Since the call was launched to celebrate commemoration, a series of activities such as voluntary works, decorations, cultural and sports moments that show the importance of this ephemeris have been carried out.
Under the slogan “for Cuba together we create” the population will mobilize in defense of the conquests of the revolution.
This day is also relevant because 25 years are completed that Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz pronounced the concept of revolution, guide of the actions that are executed in the country for the benefit of all.
On May 1, International Workers Day was established in tribute to American day laborers who were executed in 1886 for strikes in claim of better working conditions.
While in some parts of the world this day becomes a scenario of protests and revindications in Cuba, the people’s party is prepared.
