SANTO DOMINGO.- The fatal victims for the collapse on April 8 of the ceiling of the Jet Set disco, in the Dominican capital, increased this Friday to 233, after the death of a woman who was hospitalized since then, they told local family media of the affected.

The 35 -year -old woman died in a clinic located in the San Cristóbal (Southeast) province, where she was transferred with consideration injuries, a situation that was subsequently complicated by kidney problems. Only three days ago, his family, who on Friday reported his death, publicly requested help to pay for the medical treatments of his relative.
The roof of the disco in question collapsed the early hours of April 8 while the popular Dominican merenguero Rubby Pérez, who also died, sang to hundreds of people. 221 people died instantly, according to the authorities, while the rest has died in the health centers to which they were transferred.
The tragedy, the worst in decades in the country, left another 180 people injured. Two investigations try to clarify the ones that happened in Jet Set, one in charge of the Attorney General’s Office and another of a technical nature that advances the National Office of Seismic Evaluation and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (UNESVIE), while they continue to present complaints against those responsible for the disco.
The Dominican president, Luis Abiner, has affirmed that he must respond to “what happened, why he happened and how he happened” in the popular disco, owned by Antonio Espaillat, who has made himself available to justice.
In an interview, on April 23 – in the television program on the day of the local channel telesystem – and the only one granted after the accident, Espaillat admitted that the ceiling ceiling of the disco “always” fell and even the same day of the tragedy some of them were changed.
Espaillat, president of RCC Media, the second media group in the country, which brings together several television channels and more than 50 radio stations, attributed the detachment of the “to different reasons” ceilings and recognized, in addition, that the roof was never examined to verify the real situation despite the leaks.
In the accident, among others, the former major league beans Otavio Dotel died; the governor of the province of Montecristi, Nelsy Cruz; The designer Martín Polanco and a son of the former president of the Senate and Minister of Public Works, Eduardo Estrella.
The death of 18 Venezuelan citizens, three Hispanic-Dominicans, two French, a Haitian, a Colombian, an Italian, a Kenyan and a Costa Rican were also reported.
