Diaz-Canel is headed by anniversary of relations with the former USSR

Havana, Cuba. -The President of the Republic and first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel headed in the Palace of the Havana Revolution the commemorative act for the anniversary of the establishment of relations with the former Soviet Union.

The highest authorities of the country participated in the ceremony, as well as representatives of the Diplomatic Corps of the Russian Federation in Cuba in an environment of respect and brotherhood between both nations.

When Esteban Lazo President of the National Assembly of Popular Power intervened, he highlighted the historical and friendship links between the peoples and governments of Cuba and Russia, remembering the key role that these relations have had in the recent history of the island.

Lazo also highlighted the meaning that Commander in Chief Fidel Castro gave to ties with the USSR and stressed that Cuba and Russia currently maintain a solid relationship of friendship and cooperation based on mutual respect and common interests.
