A-1 Polytechnic Liceo presents three projects to “The Mars Innovation Challenge 2025”

From the heart of Patagonia, the A-1 Polytechnic Liceo of Puerto Aysén, three innovative projects have been postulated to “The Mars Innovation Challenge 2025”, a prestigious international competition promoted by Exploremars, in collaboration with Janet’s Planet and Thrive On Mars.
Puerto Aysen.- This global challenge invites to address avant-garde problems in Mars’s future exploration, promoting creative and innovative solutions in three crucial areas: Martian planetary protection, medicine and genetic modifications, and integrity of the Martian exhibition.
The A-1 Polytechnic Lyceum stands out this year with the presentation of three unique proposals:

• Arce team: 3 ° C students Jose Vera, Esteban Bahamondez and Gonzalo Luna have developed the “Re -Employment Capsule of Martian Samples with Arce Seed”. Its design, inspired by biomimetics, seeks to create an efficient and elegant re -entry capsule, using the aerodynamic structure of the Arce seed as a natural . The team built a prototype of its ingenious idea through the use of 3D printing and 3D modeling pencils.
• Onion team: The student from 2nd to Yilren Vasquez presents the project “Re -entertainment capsule of scallion -type marian samples”. This model is also based on biomimetics, proposing a capsule with concentric layers, similar to an onion, designed to be covered with a non -Newtonian fluid that allows damage mitigation atmospheric re -entry. This innovative design was developed using Tinkercad and 3D Builder, culminating in a prototype made with 3D printing.
• Ancestral team: Students from 3rd to Jessica and Anahis Ravena are the creators of the “Biomed Laboratory: Ancestral Medicine”. This proposal raises a comprehensive care perspective for future colonizers and astronauts on Mars, focusing on obtaining medications from plants grown on the red planet. Additionally, the project incorporates psychological care through virtual medical sessions through the use of virtual reality lenses, based on the traditional knowledge of the use of plants for human health. The design of its laboratory was conceptualized through Tinkercad and 3D Builder, materializing in a representative model.

The community of the A-1 Polytechnic Liceo expresses its pride in the dedication and hard of its students over two months, which included valuable virtual meetings with international leaders of the initiative and with the Aerospace Academy team, under the guidance of the Javier Montiel in the United States, who provided guidelines for participation. The Technology Professor and team leader, Marcel Barrientos, facilitated the spaces, resources and experience necessary for the successful presentation of these applications.
It should be noted that the high already has a place obtained in the “The Mars Innovation Challenge 2024”, an achievement that served as an important source of inspiration and motivation to participate again and the number of proposals in this edition. In this way, the potential of the A-1 Polytechnic Lyceum and its students as zonal referents in the of ingenuity, innovation and creativity is evidenced.
We hope to obtain favorable at the end of May and that our projects obtain a deserved .
