Alfredo Barnechea He announced his presidential candidacy for the 2026 elections with the Popular Action Party. After the announcement, during an interview with Channel N, the former congressman mentioned the anecdote of the PAN with a pork rind that refused to eat when he postulated the elections in 2016.

“Why am I a candidate? Because I think I have the ideas and I have the program to change Peru and for five years to put a 20 -year -old push in the country,” he added.
