José Saavedra Calderón, a specialist in Peruvian and Latin American policy, indicated that the procedure that could be followed in the case of Miguel Rodríguez Díaz is that the Peru and Colombia police coordinate to be located, detained and taken to the border to make it available to the authorities.

To do this, according to Saavedra Calderón, good coordination is necessary between the governments of Peru and Colombia and that the figure of the expulsion of the Colombian territory of the main suspect of the slaughter in Pataz is applied. He stressed that it should be used that relations between the two countries “are being recomposed” after divergences between the presidents Dina Boluarte and Gustavo Petro.
