The differences are for “nuances that have nothing to do with remuneration conditions but with organizational ones”
Madrid, 23 Abr. (EUROPA press) –
Madrid is aimed at its third day of garbage strike but with the commitment to resume conversations between the union representation of workers and concession companies of the collection service “right now”.
The delegate of Urbanism, Environment and Mobility, Borja Carabante, has been the one who has announced this commitment after promoting this afternoon a meeting between the two parties in conflict, unions and concessionaires. “The negotiating table will be resumed and, therefore, the conversations will be resumed to achieve an agreement in the shortest short term of time. They have accepted this invitation from the Madrid City Council and, therefore, will resume conversations from now on,” the delegate has transferred to the press from the Cibeles Palace.
In fact, a place is already being sought to hold that meeting with the objective, in the words of Carabante, of “reaching an agreement and that this strike that remains indefinite can be distributed as soon as possible.”
A ‘no’ to pre -agreement
Despite the pre -agreement reached yesterday between the two main trade union and concessionaires, the Assembly of Workers of the Night Shift rejected the document. A red line was put on the table, avoid salary freezing. The pre -agreement document collected a rise above 4% per year, two days of free disposal and improvements related to vacation periods.
As reported by union sources to Europa Press, 1,211 workers from 1,949 cast their vote in the two assemblies that were convened on Tuesday. A total of 940 people rejected the pre -agreement, 254 voted in favor and were annulled 17.
Borja Carabante has explained that unions have moved that the discrepancy is limited to “nuances issues and that, therefore, they are not far away.” These “nuances have nothing to do with remuneration conditions but with organizational conditions,” he said.
“That opens the door to wait for an agreement to be reached as soon as possible, so that this situation is not maintained. I believe that it has no justification that, due to nuances of nuances and for issues that are no longer away from that meeting point, a strike that has damages for Madrid as a result of the accumulation of garbage will be kept indefinitely,” he said.
On the other hand, Carabante has pointed out that minimum services are being fulfilled “practically” and “there is no significant accumulation of garbage.” “We have also warned that we will be very vigilant, that we will be absolutely rigorous to control those minimum services and, where appropriate, sanction companies with greater hardness for breach of these minimum services,” he said.
The Madrid City Council has decreed minimum services of up to 50 percent to ensure that health problems are not produced. Specifically, for the collection of home waste, remains cube (orange lid), organic (brown cover) and plastic-metal-bik (yellow cover), minimum services have been set at 50%. Maximum hours must be collected every 48 and a calendar for domiciliary waste has been established, distributed over alternate days according to the districts.
