The healthy Antequera BM Torcal has confirmed that he will not be able to climb to first national if the BM dolmens, which has dropped from the Silver Honor Division, executes his registration in the third category of national handball. All this due to the filiality agreement between both clubs. In addition, at the press conference convened on Monday, it has also been confirmed that Espipi will no longer be the team coach for the next season.
There will be no double Antequerana representation in the First National
After a few weeks convulsed in the Antequerano handball, the great unknown has been resolved. There will be no double Antequerana representation in the first national if the healthy Antequera manages to ascend in the national sector that is played at the end of this May and the dolmens executes its place in the same category. Something already confirmed at a press conference this Monday, where several components of the Torcal BM have been present: Pablo Reyes, president of the club; Mario Bros, sports director; Juan Antonio Vázquez ‘Chispi’, coach; and Javier Porras, second coach.
The reason is the filiality agreement signed in 2023 and renewed last summer for this 24/25 course. Although this agreement ends at the end of June 2025, the Royal Spanish Handball Federation understands that the promotions and descents have an impact on the following year, even if the agreement between the two clubs does not continue in force. That is why, after the descent of the dolmens -mathematics since this Saturday -there will be no possibility of two Antequera teams in the same category.
The only possibility for the healthy Antequera to play next year in First National is that the dolmens does not take out his senior team and, therefore, do not execute his registration to the category, something remote and that, logically, does not depend on the team chaired by Pablo Reyes. In spite of everything, in the same press conference they have made it clear that the objective will continue to fight for the promotion in the final phase that will be held at the end of this month and that this week the details of it will be known.
ESPEPI WILL NOT CONTINUE AS A COACH
The other outstanding news of this appearance has been that Juan Antonio Vázquez ‘Chispi’ will not continue at the head of the team next season. A decision that, how the coach himself has explained, has taken since February and communicated it to the club. It will be until the end of the national sector.
The Sevillian coach arrived last summer to the club, after disconnecting from the BM dolmens. So far, he achieved the Final Four classification after a season from less to more with the healthy. In it, he managed to be a second national runner -up in the Andalusian group to be present in the last phase of competition for promotion, fulfilling the objective that was set at the beginning of the course.
