Pittsburgh (AP)-On Saturday night, Fernando Tatis Jr. ran to Home after an uncontrolled launch of the closer David Bednar, in the upper part of the ninth entrance, to take the San Diego Padres to overcome the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 in the rainy PNC Park.
Tatis Jr., who left Friday night at the third entry after receiving a 93 mph launch on his left forearm, began the novena with a double.
Manny Machado connected his third homer of the season for San Diego, which he won despite achieving only three hits. Jason Adam (3-0) worked an eighth perfect entry.
