Mexico City, April 8 (El Universal) .- Rubby Pérez did not like to talk about the accident he suffered at age 15, when he had to be amputated a leg, after a terrible run over. At that time, his desire was to become a footballer, so he crossed a time of great suffering, which ended thanks to the unconditional love he had for his grandmother, whom he saw as a mother.
In an interview for Dominican television, the Merengue singer talked about the reason he dragged a leg when walking because, although he confessed that he always avoided the subject, he was open to tell what happened to him.
Rubby’s father, Francisco Pérez, was a public transport driver and, on one occasion, he could not accompany his son until his destination, because he had to take his way to the route of the collective he handled.
Don Francisco gave him 100 Dominican pesos to take a taxi; When Rubby lost his patience, after no vehicle passed the route, he made the decision to walk back, it was then that a car hit him generating multiple wounds that led him to be hospitalized for one year.
In fact, moved to tears, the singer of “15,500 nights”, said that, before recovering knowledge, it was about 30 days unconscious.

“I didn’t want to eat, I didn’t eat, I was skinny, skinny,” he said, recalling that, when he abstained, he sought to die of starvation.
But refusing to eat did not last long, because when he believed that his grandmother had died, when in the hospital they said that a woman, of her characteristics, has just been hit, and she did not visit him, promised God that, if it was not her “mom”, as he said, he would not avoid food again.
“I close my eyes and say,” my God, hopefully it is not a mother, please not be a mom, if you help me not to be a mother, I’m going to start eating everything they give me and I will want to live and I will want to walk, even if I walk the leg, but I will do it, “he said.
His grandmother arrived two hours later than usual, because she had taken long for washing the sheets that Rubby used in the hospital.
“When I saw Mom, that was the greatest joy I have received in my life, and I hugged her and kissed her, I said: Mom, give me whatever, that I am going to eat it and I’m going to stop from here and I’m going to start walking.”
