At least seven people died and another eight were injured after the clash of a truck and a tourist transport vehicle near the Yellowstone National Park, the Idaho state police investigated the accident reported Friday.
The clash occurred at approximately 19.15, local time on Thursday (0:15 GMT) on road 20 near Lake Henry and the western entrance of the park.

The cause of the accident continues under investigation
The accident involved a truck and a tourism vehicle, which transported 14 people. Six of the occupants of the vehicle and the driver of the truck died.
The other eight people traveling in the tourism vehicle were injured.

Due to the magnitude of the incident and the process of notification to relatives, names, ages, places of origin or nationalities have not been revealed, according to the Idaho State Police (ISP) in a statement.
The road remained completely closed for almost seven hours while emergency services and the department of Transportation of Idaho worked to manage the place and clear the road.
The cause of the accident continues under investigation.
