A man and a woman were arrested on Monday after stealing two expensive pairs of glasses of a recognized optics located in the center of the city, on 18 and 17th street between 15 and 17. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., and was quickly clarified by personnel of the First Police Station, with support from other police units.
Commissioner Agustín Martínez, head of the First Police Station, confirmed that an employee of the premises appeared at the police headquarters to denounce theft. As he said, a man and a woman entered the premises simulating interest in buying glasses. While the masculine requested budgets, the female remained near the exhibition sector.
Once they both retired, the employee noticed the lack of two pairs of Ray-Ban Sun glasses, which led her to review the security cameras. There it was clearly observed how the woman stole the lenses and hid them quickly in a black jacket.
-Immediately intervention was given to the Prosecutor of Crimes against Property, Dr. Demián Campos, and the investigation began. Minutes later, at 8:15 p.m., Second Police Station managed to stop man on 10 and 33, thanks to the coincidence with the dress seen in the video. Subsequently, the woman was identified, a native of Santa Rosa, who had arrived in General Pico recently. It was also delayed and still had the stolen glasses, which were kidnapped and then returned to the owner of the commerce.
Both suspects are between 25 and 30 years old. The man is a native of General Pico and has a criminal record for crimes against property, while in the case of women, information was being aware from Santa Rosa to confirm if he has a history in that jurisdiction.
The two were formalized on Tuesday morning by prosecutor Campos, under theft positions, and transferred to different police units: she to Third Police Station, and he to Second Police Station.
